New Senior Community Brings Modern Luxury, Amenities and Activities to Assisted Living and Memory Care Residents
Durham, North Carolina, April 30, 2021 – Calyx Living announces the grand opening of its first senior living community in Durham. Calyx Living of Durham is a 44-room community whose spacious living areas spill out into welcoming, light-filled gathering spaces, activity and wellness centers, and beautifully landscaped patios, courtyards and gardens. Residents at Calyx Living of Durham have access to assisted living, memory care and respite care services.

Calyx Living of Durham is located near the Bull City’s downtown, tucked in by the beautiful Eno River. Residents can choose from three different floor plans and participate in a daily social calendar that’s stacked full of engaging activities, recreational classes and lively social events.
“Calyx captures a new focus in assisted living and memory care services,” said Jennifer Moore, Calyx’s Vice President of Operations. “Our approach isn’t stuffy or clinical, even though we offer top-notch care. The social, wellness, dining and creative programs at Calyx are specifically designed to create the sense of community and fullness of life. Assisted living residents have access to all of the Calyx’s amenities and offerings, including baking classes, gardening, book club, yoga and cardio exercise, virtual travel sessions, and, coming soon, streaming online classes. Similarly, memory care residents can participate in this full range of activities some of which are offered exclusively in Calyx’s dedicated memory care wing which has its own art space, game area, gardens and patios.
From opening, 100% of Calyx Living team members and residents have been fully vaccinated. This is a standard that Calyx plans to maintain as leadership continues and expands their vaccine program as COVID standards change.
