The respite care at Calyx is centered on wellness, keeping residents as independent as possible and assisting families with temporary care needs. These short-term stays can give your loved one needed support in recovering from an illness or injury as well as provide an essential break to caregivers.
Our wellness programs, dining, activities and friendships can make a tremendous difference in the health, mood and energy of our temporary residents and their caregivers alike.
Recovery and Care
Calyx offers a residential alternative for medical treatment recovery. Respite residents can build strength and confidence while working with local healthcare professionals – physical therapists, speech therapists, occupational therapists and others – to regain their functionality and independence. For people recently discharged from a hospital or nursing home, Calyx’s respite care program is a supportive, temporary stop on their way back home.
Our respite care program also serves a safe, reliable and enjoyable resource for family members who are also full-time caregivers. We’re available to host your loved one for a long weekend or even several weeks offering a short-term break from the stresses of at-home care and the opportunity to experience what it’s like to live at Calyx. Respite residents are able to enjoy all of the same amenities, wellness programs and activities as our full-time residents.
Memory Care
Calyx team members are trained and experienced in caring for residents with memory loss. Our respite program includes access to The Garden Place, our signature program and secure environment for residents with dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. A short-term stay in The Garden Place for residents with dementia can help relieve the demands on at-home caregivers when that burden becomes too great. Through our therapeutic dementia program, residents are able to achieve and maintain the highest level of function available to them for as long as possible.
