A new Calyx community is coming to Apex, one of the Triangle’s oldest towns that continues to be “the peak of good living.”

Calyx Living of Apex is coming to the bustling, yet relaxed and down-home town of Apex. With it’s rich history as one of the first major areas developed outside of Raleigh, Apex continues to define the Triangle’s smart, engaged and welcoming culture.

Calyx Living of Apex is located on the town’s vibrant west side off of Jenks Road. It’s minutes from Highway 64, a major road that continues on to Jordan Lake, and I-540, the outer loop that brings the sprawling Triangle close together, especially for those in Apex who want quick access Research Triangle Park.

Apex was originally named for being the highest point on the Chatham Railroad line between Richmond, Virginia and Jacksonville, Florida. After it’s rail-based economy slowed, it transitioned to become the “Peak of Good Living” attracting those drawn to the area by technology, science, business and education and who stayed for its good climate, access to the outdoors, culture, food and flare.

Apex maintains its well-preserved downtown and trains still run daily through the heart of town. Calyx residents and their families can stroll Apex’s charming streets for antiques and art before enjoying good eats from local restaurants, bakeries and hand-scooped ice cream shops. Apex’s downtown is anchored by the Halle Cultural Arts Center, a place that brings music, performance and art just minutes away from our Calyx of Apex community. The town’s culture blends seamlessly within it’s many outdoor spaces as nature and art collide. Sculptures and murals can be enjoyed simply by walking through Apex’s parks and greenways. Residents can also literally step off-the-beaten path when they walk, run, bike or horseback ride along the 22-mile American Tobacco Trail. The ATT has multiple access points throughout Apex, including one near our Calyx of Apex community.

Even with it’s homespun personality, Apex delivers big city access. It’s less than 30 minutes to both Raleigh and Durham and boasts big-box convenience from some of the nation’s leading retailers and chains. Nationally recognized healthcare teams and facilities from UNC Health, UNC REX Healthcare and WakeMed all support our Apex community.
